Atom Builder
The Atom Builder enables students to build every known isotope from Hydrogen to Dubnium. The two big ideas are ions and isotopes. Initially students can investigate ions but not unstable atoms, then with the secret code students can build every isotope.
Atom Invaders
Atom Invaders introduces the energy scale of ionizing radiation (MeV) and its most simple behaviors – ionizing, with probability depending on particle type and energy.
Students can make some very rough guesses about the energy required for different levels of ionization.
Tracks
Tracks is designed to provide direct evidence of the interaction of ionizing radiation with matter at three size scales.
Students have to coordinate the different scales which may involve deepening their concepts about radiation, atoms, cells, and the macro scale world.
